Lowcountry Trolley Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you have information on your hop-on, hop-off service?

Answer: We no longer offer a hop-on, hop-off trolley loop. However, the city of Charleston offers shuttle service for the historic downtown area www.ridecarta.com/riding-carta/routesmapsschedules/carta-dash-map-times, and we highly recommend you take advantage of that.

Do you offer tours?

Answer: We can arrange transportation and tours for anywhere in the Charleston area. The exception to this is that there are restrictions on trolleys to provide tours of historic downtown Charleston.  However, we would be happy to arrange (and definitely recommend) transportation downtown for a walking or horse drawn carriage tour of the historic downtown.

Do you have any recommendations of what to do while in Charleston?

Yes, of course! We love all that this area has to offer. Please Check Our Blog for our newest discoveries.

Do you serve food and/or drink on the trolley?

No, we are much better drivers than chefs.

Well, then, may I bring my own food and/or drink on the trolley?

Absolutely! Our guests frequently bring coolers of food and drink on the trolley. Our favorite place for picking up a sandwich before heading to the beach is East Bay Deli  We do ask that you avoid glass containers. We take the safety of our guests seriously and want to avoid the issues that come with broken glass.

How do I reserve a Trolley and what are the payment terms?

Trolley is reserved with signing of the Charter Rental Agreement that will be provided plus a 50% non-refundable deposit.  Final balance of the charter rental is due within 30 days of the event.  Payment is usually handled through a credit card authorization that will be provided.

Should I tip the driver?

Tipping is always optional, but greatly appreciated. Our drivers are wonderful, experienced, and helpful. They will happily accept both compliments and tips.
